I have been drawn to the process of throwing since I first started ceramics. Virtually all of my work is fired to stoneware (1260 – 1300C) as I particularly like the properties of the glazes and the fact that you are relying on knowledge and experience to give each piece the best chance of coming out of the kiln as you hoped. I do also like experimenting with making kilns when I can so from time to time I produce some raku fired pieces. There is more information about my techniques on the demonpotters.co.uk website.

I have been drawn to the process of throwing since I started ceramics over 10 years ago. All of my work is fired to stoneware (1260 – 1300) as I particularly like the properties and interactions of glazes, coatings and textures at these temperatures.

At present I am experimenting with different effects inspired by geological and marine sources using surface techniques, colouring materials, such as oxides, and the inclusion of grits and gravel in the clay body
