After working as a French teacher in local comprehensive schools for many years,I started painting only recently in my retirement. Most of my work is based around boats and buildings. I love the shapes of boats moored in harbours and enjoy the challenge of painting the myriad reflections on water. I often choose bold colours to give impact to my work but at other times I look to realistically reproduce the detail in what I have observed. In my subject matter you will recognise local views and landmarks as well as scenes from further afield.
