I originally studied Fine Art at Bristol before going on to spend many years teaching Art. Retirement gave me the opportunity to work on my own creative pursuits and clay became my medium of choice. Many summers spent exploring West Africa gave me inspiration for much of my work and I enjoy working on large scale sculptural pieces. My yoga classes and my cats have inspired me to make lots of 'Yoga cats' in various poses and it's great to see the amusement that they bring to people.
I use crank stoneware clay in my work, for it's colour and texture, with sparing use of slips and glazes.
